Making a Positive Impact Together with IMPACT COLLECTIVE

HOLISTIK was born out of our love for family and loved ones—for people. For us, the health of people is intertwined with the health of our planet. That’s why we are proud to announce that we are now furthering our commitment to being good stewards of our planet by becoming an IMPACT COLLECTIVE brand.

What is Impact Collective?

IMPACT COLLECTIVE is a group of forward-thinking brands committed to making an immediate and positive environmental impact. Together, we are empowered to be responsible stewards of our planet while providing our customers with the same high-quality products. By participating in certified plastic projects through this initiative, HOLISTIK has taken another step in our commitment to sustainability.

IMPACT COLLECTIVE also makes it easier for you to shop sustainable products. They certify four IMPACT seals for brands that commit to neutralizing carbon, plastic, water, and energy footprints. Look for the IMPACT seal when you shop and rest assured that your purchase isn’t hurting the planet.

How is HOLISTIK Making an Impact?

As members of IMPACT COLLECTIVE, we are committed to not only neutralizing our plastic footprint, but offsetting that of others as well. Starting now, for every HOLISTIK STIK sold, we will pull one plastic bottle out of the ocean, with each bottle representing four times as much plastic as a STIK (in weight).

By 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than there are fish (by weight), but not if we can help it. Through our participation in IMPACT COLLECTIVE, our impact on plastic pollution will be focused on the areas of the world that are most affected by it. We are working with certified community projects in Haiti, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India. These projects fund on-the-ground organizations who pay plastic bottle collectors, keeping their waterways clean, and often providing less fortunate members of the community with an essential income stream.

We further plan to maximize the partnership with similar plans for carbon, water and energy to offset the great overuse from the Cannabis/CBD category.  We made an early pledge giving us a headstart in these categories with our greenhouse grown hemp, greatly reducing our carbon footprint and dependency on power and water.

We're Just Getting Started

We are proud to join the IMPACT COLLECTIVE because they allow us to take immediate responsibility for the environment today, while building a bridge to more sustainability in the future. This is just our first step on our journey to going plastic-free and doing our part to solve the urgent problems that our planet faces.

At HOLISTIK, we are committed to the important global mission of sustainability and believe that it goes beyond the bottom line. We recognize that this partnership is not enough by itself, but it is a great start as we continue on our journey toward a biodegradable hemp plastic. We are plastic neutral for now, and on our way to plastic-free.

What Can You Do?

As a consumer and citizen, there are plenty of ways that you can help prevent plastic pollution and protect our planet. You can start by shopping the seal and supporting IMPACT brands, but the action doesn’t stop there.

Start by checking out these 10 ways to reduce plastic pollution from the NRDC. This summer, when you’re going out for hikes, beach days, or picnics at the park, try packing reusables like cups from Klean Kanteen, containers from U Konserve, Bambu utensils, and washable snack bags from Stasher. Most importantly, no matter what type of plastic you are using, and it’s everywhere, so good chance you are using some, is to recycle and recycle with care, separating types of plastic to give them the best chance of being repurposed.  It’s important that we all play our part in keeping plastic out of the oceans, especially when we are enjoying all the benefits the great outdoors have to offer.

This summer, in addition to beginning our commitment to pull one plastic bottle out of the ocean for every STIK sold, we will also be sharing tips for reducing single-use plastic waste and practicing sustainable wellness. Follow along on social media and let’s work together to save the planet!
